A positive displacement pump, commonly known as DP, forces liquid to move by trapping a fixed amount and forcing (displacing) it out the pump.
This principle means that the liquid has to move, not only out the pump, but to it also, making it idea for difficult liquids that are not easy flowing (thick) and viscous (like oil).
For most agri. applications where this type of pump is required, we generally use a progressive cavity (Screw Pump) that are ideal for most difficult liquids we meet in the agri. industry and gives a good flow-rate.
The PD operation enables an accurate amount of liquid to be pumped in a specified time period, known as metering or dosing pumps, offering a precise, simple and low cost option for gauging liquid transfer.
